Lou was a member of the National Association of Realtors and the Milwaukee Board of Realtors, receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award and the Certificate of Appreciation Award for being on the Board of Directors and serving as Chairman of the Ad Hoc Bylaws Committee. in 1965, where he worked side-by-side with his brother, Don. Following a tour of duty, he spent two years in Chicago, employed with National Advertising, Inc., before returning to Milwaukee and entering the real estate profession.
